SCORE Course Description and Registration Information

SCORE “Classic” Simulation Course

The one day SCORE course combines simulated cases, hands on workshops and Crisis Resource Management coaching sessions to develop and practice the technical and non-technical skills required of rural and community health care teams. With an emphasis on communication, decision making and effective team performance, physicians will get the opportunity to play both “team lead” and “helper” roles while allied health professionals will get to use their skills as part of an interdisciplinary team. Group sizes are very limited, ensuring individualized coaching and feedback. Physician participant to staff ratios are between 1:1 and 1:2. SCORE has over 50 hours of accredited content and the modules selected for each course are based on the needs assessments of the participants.

SCORE is fully accredited with the CFPC Mainpro+ program with both certified activity credits and certified assessment activity credits. The specific credit value of a course will depend on the activities of that course and whether the participant chooses to participate in optional additional exercises.

This activity is an Accredited Simulation Activity (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the Continuing Education and Professional Development Office at NOSM University on 19/03/2024 and expires 03/2027. Remember to visit MAINPORT ePortfolio to record your learning and outcomes. You may claim a maximum of 8 hours (credits are automatically calculated)
